The idea
You can't predict returns. You can shape risk.
An optimizer tries thousands of mixes of what you hold and keeps the ones that fit your goal. Its biggest lever is volatility: how wildly a price swings.
- Volatility
- How far a price swings. Same destination, rougher ride.
- Variance
- Volatility, squared. The number most optimizers shrink.
- Diversification
- Assets that don't move together cancel each other's swings.
Inputs
It reads what was public, the day it was public.
Every input is dated by publication, so a past decision never sees the future.

Backtest
A backtest that cannot cheat.
Most backtests quietly know the future. Ours re-decides at every date with only what was public then: prices, analyst targets and filings by the day they came out. Our tests plant fake future prices and check that nothing moves.

FAQ
Questions people ask.
Is it free?
Yes, during the beta. Email and password, no card. Pricing will be announced before anything changes.
Can I use it from Claude or another assistant?
Yes. Claude connects without a key; Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI use a personal API key. More than 100 tools.
What can the assistant change in my account?
Only what you tick. Reading is always on. Editing portfolios and recording trades stay off until you enable them, and every trade waits for your confirmation.
How does the backtest avoid look-ahead bias?
At each date the optimizer sees only prices up to that date, and analyst or filing data by publication date. A test plants fake future prices and checks that nothing changes.
What is an automatic strategy?
A simulated portfolio you hand to an optimizer. It rebalances on schedule and writes to its own journal. There is no broker link: nothing is ever traded for you.
Which assets are supported?
US and international stocks, ETFs, crypto, indices, commodities and currency pairs. Trades are entered by hand or imported from Excel. No broker credentials.
How is performance computed when I deposit or withdraw?
Time-weighted, on the holdings you actually had. Flows are neutralized. The journal also shows realized P/L, year-to-date and an annualized return.
Is this investment advice?
No. TanitFolio is a tool for information and education, built on end-of-day data. Past results, real or simulated, do not predict the future. Decisions stay yours.
